Model Packs increase the number of Amp or FX Models of a GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt, PODxt Live or PODxt Pro, for a wider variety of tone possibilities. When a particular tone in the library relies on a Model available in one of these packs, you'll see symbol(s) to indicate which Packs: MS (Metal Shop), CC (Classics Collection), FX (FX Junkie), and PP (Power Pack).

The models within the FX Junkie Model Pack are already included in PODxt Live, and offered for purchase to add-on to GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt and PODxt Pro.

Variax is the uniquely flexibile guitar from Line 6. Our Vetta II amplifier includes a digital connection for the Variax that lets you store settings for both your amp and your guitar in the Vetta II so that when you call up a Vetta Channel Memory your amp and guitar can change sounds together. Vetta II Tones marked with this guitar symbol include this Variax data.

For each tone in the library, you'll see an icon for either a single coil or humbucker pickup. This tells you whether the tone is best for use with a single coil pickup or a humbucker, so you can select the appropriate pickup on your guitar when using this tone.

Attention POD 2.0, Flextone and HD147 owners... Your hardware doesn't do Stomp effects, so you'll hear something different than what was intended. Try increasing the Drive or choose a higher gain Amp Model to get the right sound. The other aspects of the sound should translate as expected, so you'll at least get a great starting place for tweaking.

*FIRMWARE 3.60* Here is a True Eddie Van Halen Wet / Dry / Wet patch for those in a EVH cover band or for those who just want to have the convenience of one single patch that can cover the recordings of the 70's to the modern 20xx Live tones. This patch isn't an exact replica of Eddie’s tones. This is more of an all-in-one patch that can get you “close” to the sounds Eddie has gifted us with. Note the Wet/Dry/Wet is found on the 90’s and 20xx Snapshots 3 & 4.
70’s (Snap1) - Earlier Van Halen guitar tuning was lower than standard so to compensate, I added a pitch block. Engage on the “Unchained” button for Flanger. Phaser and delay repeat closely mimics the effects found on the earlier recordings.
80’s (Snap2) – Can cover from Fair warning – Ou812 tunes where there's a hint of Chorus in many songs... adjust your guitar volumes for cleaning tones.
90’s (Snap3) – Was based around “For Unlawful Carnel Knowledge” Album. Eddie used a True Wet / Dry / Wet and harmonizer to give it that wet saturation that this album was known for. Once Again using your guitar volume to adjust to less distorted tones.
20xx (Snap4) – Inspiration came from the Tokyo Dome in Concert album and many live concerts found on YouTube. Heavy but not muddy.
Any snapshot can make use of the Wah Wah with “EXP Pedal Toe” to engage. Stomp on the Chorus and or Phaser for the effects. For soloing, stomp on the boost.
My Guitar Setup: Basswood Ibanez, X2n Bridge, HS-2 Middle & PAF Pro Neck with Series, Parallel, Split Coils and Out of Phase. So, for those that have a similar setup, you can really take advantage of the tones. For those that don’t, you will have to tweak.
NO Aftermarket IR's
