Model Packs increase the number of Amp or FX Models of a GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt, PODxt Live or PODxt Pro, for a wider variety of tone possibilities. When a particular tone in the library relies on a Model available in one of these packs, you'll see symbol(s) to indicate which Packs: MS (Metal Shop), CC (Classics Collection), FX (FX Junkie), and PP (Power Pack).

The models within the FX Junkie Model Pack are already included in PODxt Live, and offered for purchase to add-on to GuitarPort, TonePort, PODxt and PODxt Pro.

Variax is the uniquely flexibile guitar from Line 6. Our Vetta II amplifier includes a digital connection for the Variax that lets you store settings for both your amp and your guitar in the Vetta II so that when you call up a Vetta Channel Memory your amp and guitar can change sounds together. Vetta II Tones marked with this guitar symbol include this Variax data.

For each tone in the library, you'll see an icon for either a single coil or humbucker pickup. This tells you whether the tone is best for use with a single coil pickup or a humbucker, so you can select the appropriate pickup on your guitar when using this tone.

Attention POD 2.0, Flextone and HD147 owners... Your hardware doesn't do Stomp effects, so you'll hear something different than what was intended. Try increasing the Drive or choose a higher gain Amp Model to get the right sound. The other aspects of the sound should translate as expected, so you'll at least get a great starting place for tweaking.

While there are several great patches of Dean DeLeo on Customtone, my goal was to faithfully replicate his actual setup. Dean’s rig starts with a Dunlop Wah ~~>Boss Chorus CE-1 in stereo, with one side routed to an SIB Varidrive~~>AC30 amp equipped with Blue Alnico speakers. The other side of the split signal from the CE-1 chain goes into a Demeter preamp,~~>Rocktron Intelliverb, and finally, VHT power amps in stereo which drives two Marshall 1960a 4x12 cabinets.
This Helix patch closely mimics the signal path and with added goodies and replacements as Helix does not have it all and the Preamp models by themselves are eh so I needed to add extras for thickness.
Snap 1 – Clean’ish: Chime of a VOX model with the subtle warmth from a Placater model, which adds depth. For Deleo’s light crunch, stomp on the Varidrive.
Snap 2 – Ryth I: a DeLeo style crunch that captures every note, blended with the Placater for that distinctive sound he’s renowned for. Stomp on the Varidirve for even more depth and crunch.
Snap 3 – Ryth II: Similar to Snap 2 just more growl.
Snap 4 – Ryth/Lead: More bite and tad more sustain.
I have this patch setup with 4 Snapshots on top and 4 Stomps below.
Stomp on Sizzle for Wicked Garden, Sin, Piece of Pie, Dumb Love, Crackerman, Interstate love song, and Plush to name a few.
Stomp on Auto Wah for sections of Vasoline and position the Expression pedal near mid way for that nasal riff in Vasoline. And for songs like Silvergun Superman
My Guitar setup for this patch: Washburn N24 w/ Bridge Pickup, Bill Lawrence L-500, Neck Pickup Seymour Duncan '59n.
NO Aftermarket IR / Firmware 3.71
